Sorting Go Karts?

Erbsville Kartway in early Autumn
The Sortable team headed out to the Erbsville Kartway racetrack this Tuesday to have some fun as a group and take a break from the hard work that's going into [Top Secret Project].  Here are my favourite photos from the day...

Anticipation
Here we wait. Soon we will sign away our lives on the mandatory waiver forms. Well... obviously I opted out so I could photograph the event. I enjoy go-karting but I enjoy photographing more.

Alex and Chris ready to roll
Besides... I have this belief that the problem of Go Kart racing can be reduced to who gets the fastest car.

Guess who got the fastest car... Alex.

Mark, Chris and Brenden coming 'round the corner
I took photos from four different vantage points but somehow many of my favourite photos came from the same spot -- this turn.
Chris trying to squeeze past Colin on the inside
I'm fairly sure that the back of Colin's go kart actually said "MO BUMPING"

Brad and Aaron, gritty
I've started experimenting with creating my own Lightroom presets and Photoshop actions.  I call this one 'Mechanic' -- it's supposed to look dirty but doesn't cost you $500 when you use it on a car.

Jude, on fire with his aviators
I feel the need... the need for speed. Oh wait, that's Jude, not a young Tom Cruise.
I took a total of 685 photos on two cameras and trimmed the set down to about 30. This final photo is my favourite of the day. It shows William leading through a turn, with Mark peeking around.

Mark can only watch as William is first through the turn

Thanks to Sortable for a fun afternoon at the racetrack (followed up by beer and wings!)

(Psst... Hey... Sortable is hiring)
